Reflective Practice

We are happy to create bespoke Reflective Practice packages for any proffesional groups working with children with attachment needs or complex developmental trauma. These can be offered both in person or online.

All Reflective Practice support is underpinned by the therapeutic approaches of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and PACE. Sessions are structured and based on recognised models of Reflective Practice, including Gibb's Reflective Cycle, Kolb's Eperiential Learning and Kurtz's Intersubjective Model of Reflective Practice Groups.

 Residential Staff Support

Specialist packages of consultation or reflective practice can be designed for residential staff teams. These have proven beneficial in increasing the therapeutic understanding within the home and the empathy and understanding that staff have for the children in their care.

 Supervision

Clinical supervision is an essential tool when working with complex children and families and aids child focused decision making. Supervision can provide a space to reflect on practice and think through emotive and difficult situations.

Supervision provides time to consider our own needs and process the sometimes painful emotions that work with this client group can elicit. Making time for supervision can allow us to provide better, more effective services for the children and families we support.

At Oasis Psychology, we provide supervision for a range of professionals working with complex children and young people. We use a DDP informed model to be curious about the needs of children and young people and empathise with their needs. There can be space in supervision for formulation, for reflection and for moving cases forward.
